The sets were amazing!!! It was little Miss Bellas first "On Location" shoot, I thought she would have a melt down like normal... NOPE! She took right to it & went skipping & running around like crazy! We got lots of great shots....

Ahhhhh.... Vacation!

Yes little ones I said it!!!

Momma is taking a VACATION!!!... Well, Daddy has been off work all week... so I have had a smallish type vacation since monday.... but TODAY is really when mine started!! NO filling orders... yallz just gonna have to wait.... & NO more computer... after I blog of course! ;)

Saturday Cupcakes.... yummmmm

I think that cupcakes are the best way to end any day!... Dont you???


& Saturday cupcakes have become a small tradition in this culinary household... it started out as a way to test new cupcake flavors for the Sweet Eats Menu on the family & whatever guest had shown up that evening.... this week tho was just for a little girl time fun!

Bella & I decided that after an afternoon in the pool we would treat the boys in the house to cupcake night.... it was a blast!


She took such care to decorate each one special for Daddy & brothers!... & snuck a lick or two of frosting on the way!...


I hope that the Saturday Cupcake tradition never ends!!!

Where O Where has the Queen of Buttercream been hiding??

Well darlings... it seemed as tho I had vanished from the wold of BLOG!!!... I know you were getting worried! HA HA. I guess time has really gotten away from me... after the crazy end of the school year (they do ALOT for Kindergarden Graduation!) & now with Summer Break here & a house full of kids... who can find the time to brush their teeth let alone blog!!!


But really... ALOT has been going on these last few months...

My Baby Boy is growing up.....

I have made a big "career change" & decided that it was time to shut down The PolkaDots... the funny thing is... the same week I had made that decision... I was asked to join the BEST design group in the whole wide world!The Chicks

.... its funny how the universe works sometimes.... I dont think that this group of women will ever understand how completed I feel having them in my life... what an awesome group of ladies!!

My buisness is growing by leaps & bounds... & I cant wait to see what else is in store for The Queen of Buttercream!

The Ladies Who Lunch...

Every day... around 10:45am we start cleaning up toys & getting ready for lunch.... the girls set about putting away dolls... & blocks & tea sets... they remake the bed which they had turned into a club house the hour before... play food is placed back into the play kitchen... & then the tiny pink table is set up for lunch...
They do all this on their own... while I am putting together lunch... which upon request is usually grapes/oranges... turkey meat... & wheat thins... YUMMY!



Today as I rounded the corner from the kitchen to the living room to serve said yummies I am greeted with... "Look!... we made a cafe!"... the fact that my daughter even knows what a cafe is... makes me laugh... but watching them chat with each other & daintly nibble on lunch made me laugh even more!



These 3 little girls that drive each other crazy.. like all friends do... have truely stolen my heart! & I am so lucky that I have gotten to play apart in the women they will become!

What a Magical Weekend!.... a fairies Tale

Hear ye! Hear Ye! Come one & all to bear witness to the magical tale of one who has traveled far & seen much!
I dear readers have spent the weekend trapped in the body of the fairy D'jour...(a giggling, mischivous fairy, who loves all things sparkley & sweet!) surrounded by pirates... by kings & queens... witches & wizards... elfs & knomes... wenches & peasants... & many a mortal!
Entertaining small children with my silliness & tales of my mushroom in winch I live drinking nectar for dinner & catching moonbeams for play!
... but Alas... the week has begun & my wings have faded away.... but here are the memories I have taken with me....

Its funny the pictures that I take of Miss Bella that inspire me... that just strike something in me that says.... wow... thats MY daughter... the one that I prayed so long to have, the one that I dont quite understand, & the one that makes me want to tear my hair out at times...

She is everything I want to be... & I cant wait to see what this firey little beauty will become....

For now she is content modeling for mommy....


however, we must have sillyness!!!



& then there is the waiting.... this is when I get Mommy.. are we done yet? I want my heart candy!

A day at the Zoo....

What a super fun day!! Cjs K5 class went on their Zoo trip today... nothing better than a day with 35 6yr olds! tee hee!
We were lucky enough to get paired up with Josh... (Cjs BFF) so it was smooth sailing!

We rode the carousel ...





& we checked out the Lorikeets.... & let them drink nectar out of our hands!!



& the new Lion cubs are the sweetest things ever!



Bellas favorite animal was the elephant.... we even had to get a stuffed one on the way out.... His name is Horton!


I am completely exhausted.... & wind burned.... & ready to crash... but it was an awesome day hangin out with my kiddos & their buddies!

A Bit of inspiration....

We all know dear friends that inspiration comes from so many places that one cant really keep track... or at least in my life that would be the case... little things like the way the light is playing on the big pile of junk on my desk... or the smudge of chocolate Tink left on her cheek today when she thought she had gotten away with the MEGA CHOCOLATE CAPER! All of these things stike something in me that cause different reactions... INSPIRATION!!!

I Posted a "challenge" to my boutique group today... find photos that inspire you... & tell me why... now not many of them participated today, & Im sure that I will recieve more over the weekend... but here is what WE found so far...
